Nusha Balyan

Nusha Balyan is a broadcast student at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She grew up in Varna, on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. Nusha came to the United States to pursue a degree in communications arts from Caldwell College in Caldwell, N.J., where she graduated summa cum laude. As a TV host, reporter and producer at the Caldwell Communications Network, she worked on everything from newscasts to entertainment reports. Enrolled in the Caldwell College Honors Program, she created a short film called “Lysistrata, A Call for Peace.” After internships at WPLJ Radio in New York City and News 12 New Jersey, her first full-time job was as an office manager at the Employment Guide Newspaper. There, Nusha created a video for the company’s website and wrote articles for the company’s national publication. Nusha is currently covering the Inwood beat for Northattan.
